I shot this footage on Venice Beach in March (or maybe April) 2016. I met a number of the homeless people that were living there and asked if I could take their video portraits. A few said yes.

 

There's also just lots and lots of activity going on down there that was fun to capture, and some of the stuff at the Santa Monica Pier too.

But I haven't had a chance to share it until now. I think it goes well with Yen's wonderful, powerful, heart-breaking song, "Temporary", produced by 10 Kinds of Handsome (which is also Yen).

 

It's my favourite Mechanical Pterodactyl song actually, although I like all the others too. And I'm very, very much looking forward to the new Mechanical Pterodactyl album, that will hopefully be coming out soon...
